Voter Dissatisfaction and Repercussions

Good day, good people.

For devotees of the English language: Admass is a noun. Admass is the saturation by political candidates with media advertising on television with the intent to influence, or is it with intent to misrepresent and fool the people who vote.

In Operation Downfall, a political thriller, the president, Robert B. Harrison, is a corruptician who conspires to commit treason. He is arrogant, unironically conceited and believes he is above the law.

What does an honest and capable candidate look like? The voters are the victims of mass marketing and advertising. They have no capability to determine the right person for the job. They are guessing, although doctors use he euphemism — diagnosing.

It is the political culture which is corrupting. Maybe a capable and honest person may be elected. But the first thing they do when sworn in and are seated is to hire a lobbyist to raise campaign contributions. The insidious culture will corrupt the maybe honest and naive. Lobbyists do not give or raise campaign contributions, they raise money for bribes. Ask Jack Abramoff. He told Piers Morgan at one time he owned one hundred members of Congress. Which forces two questions: Who owns them now? Who owns the other 435?

Of course, there is another view. The lobbyists, special interest groups, and major corporations who pay money not disguised as campaign contributions and other perquisites to members of Congress are not bribing but hiring. And as we all know, employers get what they pay for. Employees do as they are told, look for employment longevity and hope for bonuses.

I am hoping, or is it a dream, I get a surprise as a result of the elections in 2012. Voters inspired by The Arab Spring, the dissatisfaction and repercussions caused by the voters whom are led by the example of the Millennial’s, those who were born between 1980 and 2000, of the Occupy movements, and the fans of Howard Beale in the movie Network and his quote “I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore” may elect new members of Congress who will represent the American people first.

But are the voters outraged enough to get a lantern from Diogenes of Sinope, find honest men and women, elect them to Congress and replace the intransigent do nothings who are in office now? They need to elect people who will do what they are being paid to do — only represent the American people. The corrupticians in office now who have been representing themselves first after receiving bribes not disguised as campaign contributions and other perquisites must be replaced. They give their bribers, the lobbyists, their masters and special interest groups what they paid for second, their constituents third and the American people last
